While much better than the first HULK movie to be remade, I was not particularly impressed with this movie. I'm sorry I paid ten dollars to see the movie, I would rather have waited to see it on HBO.

Megeman Movie Selection - "Gone Baby Gone"

Gone Baby Gone is a crime drama/mystery film directed by Ben Affleck (don't worry, he's not in the movie). The screenplay by Affleck and Aaron Stockard is based on the novel of the same name by Dennis Lehane. The plot centers on two private investigators hunting for an abducted four-year-old girl, Amanda McCready, from the Boston neighborhood of Dorchester.

great wine list - can order taste, 1/2 or full glass. sara at the bar is the best. the one guy bartender is a bit snarky. food is really good although eating small bites (cheese, charcuterie, and meatballs) at the bar is better. valet parking

Free Live Jazz

On Friday evenings walk over to the sculpture garden in the national mall and enjoy live free jazz music. You can purchase pitchers of sangria or bottles of wine and enjoy a casual evening with friends.

Many people sit around the fountain or take blankets and sit in the grass next to their favorite sculpture. It is fun and free!!!

La Creperie is a great inexpensive casual restaurant in Pentagon Row. They specialize in crepes (salty and sweet). It is a good place to eat lunch or dinner as well as take a coffee break and share a delicious nutella crepe with a friend.

Pentagon Row has many restaurants (Asian, Irish, Lebanese, American...) with an open space that connects everything together. It is very lively and has live music on Wednesday evenings (summer only).

Commonwealth Gastopub

A new watering hole in Columbia Heights has just opened. Tuesday through Sunday 5pm-11pm. They open for brunch on August 23 and Lunch soon after that. Its set in the style of a traditional English pub, with the traditional English pub fare, but a step up in quality. I'm a huge fan of the London broil with the Yorkshire pudding and onion gravy. I would recommend getting there early to get a seat outside on the patio.

Chili has a great happy hour! It ends at 7pm but you get 6 free wings and free chips and salsa. 2 beers (on special) with wings and chips can fill you up and it's under $6! I can afford that!

The urgent care in Arlington at 601 S. Carlin Rd is pretty good! Don't for get your health care card though, they sent bills off to another company to handle billing. I got in and out pretty quickly for $20.

If you are looking for a relaxed, inexpensive brunch on Saturday or Sunday, I would recommend Luna Grill in Dupont or Shirlington. Very casual little place that has great tomato soup and fresh, hot bread and filling benedict choices for brunch. The place is crowded though and the tables are close together, so get there early or be prepared to feel like you are sitting in on your neighbors' conversation.

Alexandria Emergency Hospital

I bring my dog to the Alexandria Emergency Hospital. The techs and vets are nice and I think they take good care of her, but they are expensive and they tend to "overtreat". She had a UTI and during tests they found her white blood cells to be elevated. Although nothing physically appears to be wrong with her, they wanted to do an ultrasound!

She also got bite by another dog, small bite but it did need to be taken care of. They required that she stay overnight, be put under ...

Deep Creek Lake

I went to Deep Creek Lake in Maryland a few years ago and love this as a nearby vacation spot. Just a few hours drive to Oakland Maryland and this is a nice alternative to the beach. If you have a big group, it would be worth it to rent one of the many vacation homes that are available year round to rent. It can be expensive, but if you get 12 people, the price isn't bad at all, and they often have fireplaces and hottubs. There are some hotels and B&Bs that are better suited for a couple. ...

WOW! This was absolutely fantastic. I remember the old Batman movies that were all a little campy with costumes that went a little too far. This was actually scary, Heath Ledger puts on an amazing performance, although I'm not sure if its worth the oscar buzz that's been going around.
